Having an unvented hot water cylinder installed can cost anywhere between £250 - £600 if the unvented cylinder is being replaced. If it is a new cylinder being installed, it can cost as much as £1500.
An unvented hot water cylinder can last around 25 years as long as it is maintained regularly by a fully qualified Gas Safe registered engineer, which in turn will prolong the life of the unvented hot water cylinder.
An unvented hot water cylinder can be better than a combi in some instances, especially if there is a large demand for a lot of hot water in a family home, or a large property with several hot water appliances and bathrooms.
Having an unvented cylinder can improve water pressure, as long as you have adequate mains water pressure. This will determine if you are able to have an unvented water cylinder installed, however your pressure is governed by incoming mains pressure.
This is not permitted and generally would not be required as unvented cylinders use mains pressure. It would be highly unlikely the pressure would not be suitable. This pressure is governed by your mains pressure.
At a rough estimate, the water in your cylinder should stay warm for between 1 and 2 days depending on the quality of the tank and the insulation. This will have a big factor on how long the water stays warm.
